Position: Engineer/Architect

The Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) was created in 2009 by the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund with the support and encouragement of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States Government. The mission of the AADF is to facilitate the development of a sustainable private sector economy and a democratic society in Albania, and to contribute to stability in Southeastern Europe.

AADF is currently implementing BID/TIDs projects in Shkoder, Korce, Berat, Kruje, Tirane, Gjirokaster, Vlore, Tushemisht-Drilon. BID/TIDs are public-private partnerships created to enhance public services and investments in a geographically distinct urban commercial neighborhood. The primary purpose of the district is to create improved economic opportunities, security and business climate among BID/TID members. The projects involve creating an efficient and effective management structure for the commercial neighborhood as well as supervising infrastructure and facades improvement.

The Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Engineer/Architect. The candidate will coordinate infrastructure projects with designers, contractors, supervisors, municipalities, Institute of Monuments of Culture and other stakeholders and will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the BID/TID (or other AADF project) infrastructure component implementation.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor degree in Construction or Civil Engineer/Urban Planning/Architecture. A master degree in the respective fields will be an advantage;
  • Three to five years of experience in infrastructure project management (or in projects with an infrastructure component);
  • Ability to prepare, evaluate and review infrastructure designs, make amendments if necessary and verify design projects. Experience on the implementation of projects for restoration of monuments of culture as per the relevant legislation is an advantage;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal framework;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Fluency in English and Albanian;
  • Proficiency in using engineering programs like Autocad 2D/3D, Photoshop;
  • Ability to work within budgets and to deadlines;
  • Multitasking and confident decision-making ability.
