BOSNIA, USA: The most wanted Mladic to be extradited

(29/3/2002)WASHINGTON (March 29) - The US ambassador-at-large for war crimes, Pierre-Richard Prosper, confirmed today that Washington is seeking the extradition of former Bosnian Serb Army chief Ratko Mladic, and access to archives and witnesses for Hague investigators, reported B92. Prosper said that the decision on forty million dollar in US aid this weekend directly depended on whether Belgrade went ahead with extradition and access for investigators. "We have repeatedly and explicitly told the Belgrade authorities that we want to see more cooperation and that the decision on whether we would confirm the approval of aid depends on whether we see this cooperation or not," said Prosper. Hague Tribunal Prosecutor Carla del Ponte has repeatedly insisted that Mladic is living openly in Yugoslavia.
