Yugoslavia: Blewitt denies existence of list in Hague Prosecution

THE HAGUE (November 28)(28/11/2001) - The deputy prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal today categorically denied any connection between the Prosecution and the list published in Serbian media of policemen allegedly of interest to the Tribunal, reported B92. Graham Blewitt told media that the Prosecution had no knowledge of the list or where it came from and that it was of no importance to investigations. Blewitt also reiterated an allegation by Prosecutor Carla del Ponte yesterday that General Ratko Mladic was in Yugoslavia. He claimed that a very reliable source had informed del Ponte that Mladic was being protected in Serbia by the Yugoslav Army, adding that the former Bosnian Serb Army commander spent most of his time in Belgrade.
