The Government of Albania has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Water Resources Irrigation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Rehabilitation of 11 dams (located in Kukës, Berat, Fier, Korca and Murriz Thana).
The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Rehabilitation of 11 dams (located in Kukës, Berat, Fier, Korca and Murriz Thana).
Dam Safety and Additional Works
Vranishti 2 Installation of gravel berm for stability
Tregtani 2 Reconstruction of spillway and install parapet wall
Tregtani 3 Reprofile downstream face, including berm and stone and gravel protection
Murriz Thana Significant reprofiling, installation of stone berm, reconstruction of outlet
Kurjani / Strumi Reprofile, berm installation
Zharreza Reprofile downstream, reconstruct spillway
Belesova Reprofiling downstream, reconstruct spillway
Duhanasi Reprofiling downstream, reconstruct spillway
Leminoti Reprofiling downstream and spillway
Koshnica 1 Rebuild dam at lower crest level
 
Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers  (January 2011) (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 5.000 ALL (Albanian Lek). The method of payment will be direct deposit to specified account number in Banka Credins, Albania.

Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Water Administration, Blv. Deshmoret e Kombit, no.2; Tirana, Albania (third floor, meeting room) on Time 12:30 p.m. date 09-SEPTEMBER-2014.
All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of 167.000 Euro.
