BOSNIA: Surrender now with dignity, Robertson warns Karadzic

(1/3/2002)BRUSSELS (March 1) - NATO Secretary-General George Robertson warned today that he had a solemn message for former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, reported B92. "Time is running out: one day, whether it is tomorrow or next month, SFOR will come for you. Surrender now with some dignity or justice will be brought to you," said Robertson. The western military alliance Robertson heads has failed twice in the past 24 hours to capture the elusive war crimes suspect who, together with his military henchman Ratko Mladic, has been on the run for six years. Robertson spoke confidently to media in Brussels today, saying that alliance forces would eventually capture Karadzic. "You can expect more high-profile and low-profile operations until the day comes when those who have been indicted for war crimes face justice at The Hague," he told journalists.
