(16/2/2002) BELGRADE (February 16) - Belgrade authorities attempted to convince former leader Ratko Mladic, to surrender on his own will in The Hague, but did not succeed. According to AFP, citied Beta, Belgrade attempted to convince Mladic, "but there is no chance, on such, for he refuses to surrender". "Two- three weeks ago, a Yugoslav army officer, explained, that he not protected from the army any more", cities the source. According to AFP, Mladic is believed to be in Serbia, as Carla del Ponte claims.
