Job Title:     
Information and Communication Officer
Description of duties:
  • Manage and organise the press relations of the Delegation (press releases, interviews, briefings and press conferences, press articles, press trips);
  • Manage the information activities of the Delegation (including public events, publications, website, web portal and EU Information Centre), when so required;
  • In close coordination with the Operations section, ensure the visibility of EU external assistance programmes and projects, their objectives and results vis-à-vis the public and specific target groups;
  • Contribute to/ participate / intervene in public events / seminars on the EU;
  • Coordinate with Member States and other relevant stakeholders on media-related issues and on cultural activities;
  • Ensure that daily / weekly press reviews and analyses for Headquarters are done and transmitted in timely manner;
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis of Albanian media perception of EU salient developments or events (high level visits, publication of important reports, etc.), media environment, etc.
  • Closely liaise with and provide back-up of the information and communication colleague, when necessary;
  • Manage projects financed under the annual information budget, ensure the procurement process (including drafting the Terms of Reference, participation in the evaluation of tenders, etc.) and their operational and financial management;
  • Closely liaise with and provide support to the Operations section to enhance the visibility of EU external assistance programmes and projects, managed by the Delegation;
  • Contribute to the press and information strategy of the Delegation;
  • Programme and organise information, communication and publications activities.
 
Conditions:
Applicants must have:
  • Permanent residence in the Republic of Albania;
  • University Degree, preferably in journalism, public relations, political science, 
international relations or social sciences;
  • At least 2 years job-related experience;
  • Previous experience in the area of public relations/media and previous experience of
 working in an international organisation or diplomatic mission would be an
advantage;
  • Sound knowledge of public and media relations management would constitute an
 advantage;
  • Proven ability to communicate fluently in English and Albanian, both spoken and
 written, is essential;
  • Good knowledge of French would be an advantage;
  • Aptitude for dialogue, capacity to establish and maintain a wide range of contacts;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse publics; ability to
  judge the impact of positions taken;
  • Capacity to assure quality, speed and accuracy in performing a diversity of tasks in a
 complex, multicultural environment.
