This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. WB183-01/13 of January 14, 2013 on-line.
The Government of Albania has received a Loan from the World Bank [IBRD] toward the cost of the Water Sector Investment Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for: Procurement of Bulk Water Supply System in Durres Region, Contract No WDFK1. The Water PIU at the Albania Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for: Bulk Water Supply System in Durres region. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in May 2014.
Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 2011, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

From 9.00 hours to 15.00 local hours. A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested Applicants (a) on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 250 Euro. The method of payment will be cashier’s check. The Bidding Documents will be sent by International Courier (DHL) or will be handed over to the authorized representative of the Applicant.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by April 07, 2014 at 12.00 noon and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Water Sector Investment Project, Contract No PQ- WDFK 1 – Bulk Water Supply System in Durres Region.
