Yugoslavia: Pavkovic denies Army protecting Mladic

BELGRADE (December 7)(7/12/2001) - The chief of staff of the Yugoslav Army has denied that the former Bosnian Serb military commander Ratko Mladic is being protected in an army facility on Yugoslav Nebojsa Pavkovic told weekly NIN that allegations by Hague Tribunal prosecutor Carla del Ponte territory, that the Yugoslav Army was protecting Mladic were untrue. Del Ponte last week told the UN Security Council that she had Mladic's address in Belgrade and demanded that the Council insist on his arrest and that of former Bosnian Serb president Radovan Karadzic.
