After Tirana, Fier and Gjirokastra, the Korça Regional Football Association denounces Duka's manipulations: Elections are held with fake and unauthorized persons

Regional football associations continue to denounce Armando Duka and the Albanian Football Federation (AFF). After Tirana, Fier and Gjirokastra, the Korça Regional Football Association has also denounced the attempts of Armando Duka to rig the elections held by the AFF.

In Korça Regional Football Association, the AFF controls the process; two delegates are appointed for the elections that will take place on 2nd March! Erseka, Pogradec and Bilisht (entity members of Korça Regional Football Association) have opposed the procedure.

The representatives of Albanian southeastern football have issued a notarized statement urging the bodies of AFF for transparency regarding the decision-making and its procedural actions related to the organization of the electoral process for the election of the delegates of the General Assembly of AFF.

They consider the decisions taken and procedural actions performed, so far, by AFF, and some Regional Football Associations (RFA), regarding the organization of elections for the appointment of delegates in the General Assembly of the AFF, invalid and taken in non-compliance and against the provisions made in the Statute of RFA and the Procedural Rules of the General Assembly of AFF.

The statement denounces the fact that that AFF and some ARFs have recently organized and conducted an electoral process of voting of delegates with the right to vote, who will represent ARF in the meeting of the Ordinary General Electoral Assembly of AFF, in a complete absence of transparency and open defiance of statutory provisions.

The Korça Regional Football Association says that AFF - using verbal and written fabrications - is trying to stage a political intervention in the process of any rightful membership claim for an irregular election process conducted by FSHF.

At the end of their statement, the Korça Regional Association declares: “We state our decision-making for the immediate revocation of any act signed to date by us as legal representatives of member entities of the Korça Regional Football Association, for the appointment of delegates in the proceedings of the General Assemblies of ARF (Korça Regional Football Association) dated 28.01.2022; considering any further procedural decision or action taken by these delegates as void and with no legal effect, in the absence of the relevant representative rights and subject to criminal penalties”.
 
"All the legal representatives of the member entities of the Korça Regional Football Association are the only representatives with full representation rights in the meetings that will be held by the General Assembly of ARFK, and in the meetings that will be held by the General Assembly of AFF", as highlighted in the public statement of Korça Regional Association of Football.

Today, the representatives of FSHF were in Korça, where two representatives of this regional association were appointed to the Electoral Assembly that will take place on March 2nd.

In addition, yesterday morning, seven members of the Fier Regional Football Association made an official request to the Albanian Football Federation (AFF) on the eve of the elections that will be held for the President and delegates of this association. The Regional Football Association of Fier demands the revocation of any action taken by AFF, which, according to them, seriously damages the electoral process and the trust in the sport’s community. According to them, the actions taken by AFF so far are invalid because the number of delegates has been increased or reduced before the election process.

Meanwhile, only two days before the elections for the chairman of Gjirokastra Regional Association of Football took place, the delegates of this association sent the same request to AFF as the aforementioned associations. The request was signed by eight football clubs, stating that the signatures collected by AFF and any action that the Albanian football institution will try to undertake will be considered, by them, null and void. 

This warning comes just two days after the Gjirokastra Regional Association of Football sent a request to the Albanian Football Federation, asking for the number and names of the delegates, as well as, explanations on how these delegates were appointed.
