Head of Sponsorship – Dibra Area Program

World Vision:
World Vision International is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization founded in 1950. World Vision is dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to help them reach their full potential by directly addressing the causes of poverty and oppression.
World Vision works in around 100 countries around the world, serving all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. World Vision started its work in Albania and Kosovo in 1999 and 1998 respectively, as an emergency response to aid persons displaced by Kosovo’s war. World Vision’s emergency relief operations have gradually transitioned into sustainable development programs in 10 areas in Albania to improve the well-being of children, their families and communities and in peace building, Kosovo.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
 
Lead the implementation of Sponsorship project which will contribute to all children of Dibra Area Program for a better life through transformed relationship between children and their sponsors. The head of sponsorship will lead all the processes in ensuring that the Area Program meets Sponsorship Key Performance Indicators through timely and accurate processing of sponsor-to-child and child-to-sponsor correspondence, maintaining Register Children (RC) supply through adequate RC management systems, ensuring carry-out of sponsorship activities in the Area Program.
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.     Support the collaboration and integration of Child Sponsorship project with other Area Program projects ensuring that all registered children enjoy a good health, are well educated, are cared for, well-protected and participate in activities.
2.     Provide all Area Program projects with information related to registered children and help them to address problems.
3.     Ensure that the integration approach address the most vulnerable children in the community.
4.     Build close and constructive relationships and actively learn within partner communities in order to understand their realities and facilitate development processes effectively.
5.     Develop a strategy to inform and share the understanding of Child Sponsorship Project with the communities/partners/ children.
6.     Coordinate and support community understanding of how to be active promoters of sponsorship and its possible development impacts.
7.     Coordinate and support community-led selection of registered children with a special focus on the most vulnerable groups.
8.     Coordinate and support the work of the Area Program Sponsorship Team in developing criteria for child selection with the strong collaboration with the community.
9.     Coordinate and support the Sponsorship Team in conducting all activities related to sponsorship and other ADP projects, ensuring the participation of all registered children;
10.  Facilitate an empowering approach to formation and ongoing participation of all registered children for project implementation.
11.  Develop understanding of the Child Sponsorship team/community monitors/partners/ children on participation, diversity and inclusion.
12.  Develop a plan for capacity building (needs and opportunities) for the sponsorship team on sponsorship programming (ex. principles of development/child focused programming/child participation/ the most vulnerable).
13.  Support the performance of the Child Sponsorship team and provide feedback during staffs’ performance evaluation process.
14.  Provide training and mentoring to Community Monitors as required regarding agency requirements on correspondence quality, data gathering, RC monitoring, activity organization and performance.
15.  Ensure that all requirements and standards in sponsorship operations are met on time and with high quality.
16.  Report every case of child abuse, child health problem, education problem and coordinating with sectors for a solution
17.  Ensure follow up of cases in collaboration with other staff members on cases of child protection.
18.  Compile monthly/semiannual/annual narrative report for the processes of implementing Child Sponsorship project.
19.  Ensure project monthly monitoring system and tools are developed and used to track the progress of project implementation.
20.  Support the Area Program Manager with CS budget planning, prepares budget cash flows and maintains financial balances of project expenses towards budget, coordinate the overall project budget with efficiency to maximize intervention in the area.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
 
1.   Master’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
2.   At least two years of professional experience in development, managing and coordinating project; leading and supervision of people.
3.   Demonstrated leadership, supervisory and project management skills in working collaboratively with partners, institutions in support of local actions on children issues.
4.   Proven ability to develop and communicate a common vision among diverse partners and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
5.   Demonstrated accomplishment in working with host-country professionals, ministries and with donor colleagues in country.
6.   Strong organizational and analytical skills.
7.   Effective in written and oral communication
8.   Able to speak and write with a proper standard of English.
9.   Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to integrate teams of professionals around common goals.
11. The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
12. Computer literacy; strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
