World Vision works in around 100 countries around the world, serving all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender. World Vision started its work in Albania and Kosovo in 1999 and 1998 respectively, as an emergency response to aid persons displaced by Kosovo’s war. World Vision’s emergency relief operations have gradually transitioned into sustainable development programs in 10 areas in Albania to improve the well-being of children, their families and communities and in peace building, Kosovo.

Purpose of the position:
Lead and manage the Grant Acquisition and Compliance Unit. Provide leadership in developing a strategy for grant acquisition for World Vision Albania & Kosovo. Enhance staff capacity and position World Vision Albania and Kosovo to acquire and ensure grant compliance for bi & multilateral grants and private funds with WV grant minimum standards. Also, to communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and of a grant acquisition strategy
- Build relations with potential donors in collaboration with other World Vision departments
- Ensure that external stakeholders understand and appreciate WVA’s value add for acquiring grants and private funds, clearly marketing results
- Ensure effective communication with donors in country and continue to deepen the process of WVA&K to become a “preferred partner”
- Liaise with donors and other stakeholders (internal and external) for preparing winning proposals and
- Build Relations with the private sector - enabling World Vision to leverage the expertise, investment and
- Manage the decision making process and ensure that all risks are addressed consistently. Liaise with RDU
- Manage the development of project proposals ensuring they are of a high standard, technically compliant
- Ensure the management of proposal development and reporting processes occur in timely manner
- Ensure grant contracts are reviewed and compliant with donor requirements
- Advise Operations staff during the development of implementation plans on donor compliance
- Ensure quality and innovation by engaging with tech team, partners, and ADP members
- Ensure that all grant stakeholders (Project and NO level, Technical Sectors team, DME, SO) are supplied with final project documentation including approved grant contract, and understand their duties under the grant.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Master degree in development, sociology, economics, or other field applicable to developing country context
- Creative and able to embrace and coordinate innovative thinking, partnership building and problem solving skills
- Very good public relations, networking, able to work closely with people and public speaking skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team; good leadership and management skills
- Strong integrity and commitment to World Vision Values and principles
- Oral and written fluency in English
- Two to five years’ experience in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
