Kosovo leaders remind Dacic: Status is a closed chapte
Representatives of Kosovo institutions have strongly rejected Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic’s idea to solve the Kosovo issue through another Dayton Agreement.Kosovo’s Foreign Affairs Minister Enver Hoxhaj said Dacic’s idea was not serious and cannot be implemented. “Kosovo is an independent state with internationally recognized borders. Government doesn’t want spectator’s role in north
Government of Kosovo continues to divert blame regarding how Serbia’s parallel structures in the north function, particularly where the recent display of Mitrovica’s Civil Protection went unhindered.In a press conference following the Government’s meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi said the public appearance of the Civil Protection unit is an “illegal action and has challenged security forces in Kosovo [...] Such actions should not be seen in the streets of Kosovo. We do not foster the logic of violence but if someone sends a message of force, a response will be sent back,” said Kuçi.

Serbia operates approx 1,000 troops in Kosovo
Serbiaoperates illegally in northern Kosovo with about 1000 troops engaged in four different security structures; Kosovo authorities know about them and their entire commanding network. State security authorities have information that about 500 members of MUP, led by Djordje Dragovic, are operating in the north and are armed and accepted officially in Kraleva, Serbia.

Thaçi informs Quint, ignores Speaker of Parliament
Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi has not included Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi on the list of leaders he is informing separately about the meetings in Brussels with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic. Thaçi however did choose to inform President Jahjaga, the Quint ambassadors and part of the opposition on topics he opened with Milosevic’s “political son”.

Thaçi: I will meet Dacic, even in Belgrade
In an interview for Zagreb-based weekly Jutarnji List, Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said he is confident that Kosovo will be integrated in the European Union and NATO, and that Serbia will accept the reality of the independent state of Kosovo.

Cliff: No alternative except talks
UK Ambassador in Kosovo, Ian Cliff, stated that there is no other alternative except for talks between Kosovo and Serbia. During the Gërmia Hill conference held on Thursday, Cliff emphasized that talks are very important, for the Albanians and Serbs in northern Kosovo. “We will continue to support the political and technical dialogue,” said Cliff. “Dialogue is essential and important for Kosovo to normalize relations with its northern neighbour, Serbia”.

Kosovo, Serbia want to be connected by motorway

Thaçi on talks with Dacic

EU wants to see results of dialogue by February
Koha Ditore reports that European diplomats accredited in Pristina under anonymity conditions said that Brussels expects that by February when EU marks 20th anniversary of the Maastricht Treaty, dialogue should have produced the “climate of normalization” between Kosovo and Serbia and thus reconfirm the commitment that integration of the Balkans region does not have any other alternative.

Pristina engulfed in protests and violence
Papers report that the protest of Vetëvendosje against the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue started yesterday in the morning and during the day it turned into a clash between protesters and police. Police arrested 63 protesters, among which also several MPs from Vetëvendosje Movement who accused police for use of violence. Over 30 persons sought medical help.

Thaçi: Meeting with Dacic opens a new chapte
