Serbia more flexible, insists Kosovo not be represented as state
The paper claims it has in possession the document Serbian authorities have drafted regarding Kosovo’s participation in regional initiatives which indicates that Serbia will be more flexible in Kosovo’s representation issue thus enabling easier cooperation but always by not pre-empting its status. Serbia agrees not to have the text of the footnote in the nametag of Kosovo representatives but insists on it appearing in all relevant documents of regional initiatives. It also instructs its representatives how to behave in such meetings and adds that “PISG representatives from Pristina” should not bear any symbols of the “so-called Republic of Kosovo”.

Pristina-Belgrade secret negotiations
The paper claims to have secured a confidential ‘western’ diplomatic report that demonstrates the insincerity of the Quint countries, which pressed on Pristina to begin the dialogue with Kosovo’s “northern citizen”. The document dates back to the time when Boris Tadic was still President of Serbia and speaks about Belgrade’s wish to have secret talks with Kosovo.

Drews: There are arms, drugs and human trafficking in the north
In an interview for Deutsche Welle, outgoing KFOR commander Erhard Drews said that the reserve troops of the German-Austrian battalion which will be deployed to Kosovo soon will shoulder the biggest responsibility for the northern part of Kosovo. He added that 95 percent of the Serb population there does not want open conflict. “The troops will be responsible for a large part of the north and will provide security, stability and freedom of movement there,” Drews said.

UN wants dialogue and solution for the north
All papers reported on the debate on Kosovo at the UN Security Council and focused on member states’ calling on Pristina and Belgrade to resume dialogue and implement agreements reached thus far. Newspapers also highlighted that this meeting was the first time Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi spoke before the Security Council where he reiterated that Kosovo's statehood is non-negotiable.

North and dialogue, topics of discussions in UN
The north will remain the topic of high level political discussions in the United Nations on Tuesday when the UN Security Council will discuss UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s report on Kosovo. The session will be the first occasion that Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and his Serbian counterpart, Ivica Dacic, will be present since the head of Serb socialists became the head of Government in Belgrade. The report, which will be discussed by 15 members of UN Security Council, covers the three-month period from 16 April to 15 July, 2012.

AAK favors dialogue and coalition with PDK
Koha Ditore reported that the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) has chosen another path than the other two opposition parties, LDK and Vetëvendosje. Haradinaj’s party will take part in the compliance for the dialogue with Serbia and expects to enter in the coalition with PDK a few weeks after The Hague Tribunal declares their leader innocent. The coalition should ensure that Haradinaj, who left his post to face charges for war crimes in the Tribunal, will return as Prime Minister and continue where he left off.

Tahiri: Failures in dialogue because of EU, Serbia
Edita Tahiri, regarding the non-implementation of the agreements of technical dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, pointed towards Brussels and Belgrade. According to Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the dialogue with Serbia, the European Union is to blame as much as Serbia for the delays in the dialogue.

Ban’s report – criticism for Kosovo

Assembly approval not a safe bet for EULEX

Ban Ki-moon requests dialogue for the north
The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, has requested that Pristina and Belgrade engage in dialogue that would lead to a peaceful solution of the issues that concern the north of Kosovo.The situation beyond the River Ibër was one of the main concerns that the UN Secretary-General expressed during his short addressing to the media, upon his arrival in Kosovo.
